Monday 
Literacy:  Assess Theme 3, Week 2:  Drawing Conclusions and Initial Consonant B

Math:  Reassess Chapter 5:  Teen Numbers


Tuesday
Word Work: I, see, my, like
Phonemic Awareness:  Blending Onset and Rime, read poem Oodles of Noodles
Read Aloud:  The Amazing Little Porridge Pot
Concepts:  Summarize/ Drawing Conclusions
Math:  6-4  measuring with unifix cubes
Independent practice:  Snake Lengths worksheet
Homework:  Write 2 I like my …. sentences
Wednesday
Word Work:  I, see, my, like
Phonemic Awareness: Blending Onset and Rime using picture cards
Read Aloud:  Families
Concepts:  Drawing Conclusions, evaluate, concepts of print
Math:  6-5  Measuring with paper clips
Independent practice:  Measure my Crop worksheet
Homework:  Measure household items using paper clips (ie. fork, spoon, piece of paper)

Thursday   
Word Work:  I, see, my, like
Phonemic Awareness:  Blending Onset and Rime using school words
Read Aloud:  Which Would You Choose?
Math:  6-6  Try, check, and revise
Independent practice:  estimation worksheet
Homework:  Grab a handful of items (noodles, buttons, etc.) and have your child estimate how many there are.  Have them count and check their answers.
Friday
Literacy:  Assess Theme 3, Week 3
Read Aloud:  All You Need For a Snowman
Independent work:  Melting Snowman poem
Math:  Read Strega Nona, use pasta to decide which cup has more and which cup has fewer
Independent practice:  worksheet page 62
Notes from the Teacher:
*Mrs. Jenison’s class would like to welcome Mrs. Guerrero, our student teacher, for the next seven weeks.  We are excited to have her.
*We are no longer tying shoes.  Please continue to practice this skill with your child if they are still unable to tie.
*In addition to snowpants, boots, and mittens/gloves, please remember to send shoes in your child’s backpack so he/she doesn’t have to wear boots all day.
*1:35 Dismissal on Wednesday, January 18th.
